Story

Project Overview

  • Client / Brand: OWOW Talents — a global talent-matching / hiring platform.

  • Project: Web application (employer portal + talent interface) design for OWOW Talents.

  • Date: (You can fill in the actual timeframe)

  • Role: Lead UI/UX Designer – responsible for the design of the web interface, workflows, and interaction between employers and talent.

The Problem

  • Talent-acquisition and hiring globally is complicated: multiple tools, manual workflows, delays and mismatches.

  • Employers struggle to:

    • Source and vet domain-expert talent quickly

    • Manage job postings, applications, and onboarding in a unified system

  • The platform needed to simplify the journey for both Employers and Talents with clarity and speed.

Goals & Objectives

  • Create an intuitive portal for employers to post jobs, review candidates, and onboard talent.

  • Design a clean, responsive UI that fosters trust and professionalism (especially for enterprise/hiring context).

  • Reduce friction: fewer steps to post jobs, find matches, and complete onboarding.

  • Ensure brand consistency while delivering UI/UX suited to both novice and experienced users.

My Approach & Key Features

  • User-flows & Personas
Defined primary user roles: Employers, Talent, Recruiters/Operations. Mapped typical journeys: onboarding → job posting → match → hire.

  • Wireframing & Prototyping
Created low-fidelity flows (signup wizard, job creation wizard) and iterated to mid/high fidelity.

  • Dashboard / Portal UI
Designed employer dashboard: job summary, candidate pipeline, metrics. Clear left navigation, progress markers, and status indicators.

  • Responsive Design
Ensured key flows worked across desktop and tablet/mobile views.

  • Visual Design
Clean modern layout, corporate colour palette, typography for readability. Focused on clarity, minimal distractions, and professional tone.

  • Interaction & Feedback
Incorporated wizard flows (e.g., onboarding wizard), progress bars, and micro-interactions for state changes (job posted, candidate matched).

  • Brand & Experience Alignment
Although leveraging OWOW’s branding ensured the interface felt premium, it also aligned with your portfolio’s design quality.

Outcome & Impact

  • Streamlined employer onboarding and job-posting workflow (reduced steps/time).

  • Visual clarity improved: dashboards allowed employers to start seeing results (candidates, metrics) more quickly.

  • Provided you with a strong enterprise application design portfolio piece — aligning with your goal to become a product-design consultant and win higher-tier clients.

  • Demonstrated your ability to design B2B web applications (not just consumer apps).

Learnings & Reflections

  • Designing for dual-sided platforms (employer + talent) presents unique UX challenges: balancing simplicity for one side and depth for another.

  • Onboarding is critical: the fewer required steps and the clearer the flow, the higher the adoption.

  • Visual clarity in dashboards matters far more than decorative design in enterprise tools — usability wins.

  • Communicating user flows, state changes, and data density early helps engineering and stakeholders align.

  • For your portfolio: emphasise metrics (if available), user-impact statements, and before/after visuals.
